Launch of Annual National Diners Poll for 2022

Harden’s, the print and digital restaurant guide based on an annual survey of diner opinion, launches its 30th annual survey today.

Any diner visiting hardens.com before the June 26 deadline can take part.

The conclusions from the diners poll forms the basis for Harden’s two print restaurant guides – Harden’s London Restaurants 2022, and Harden’s Best UK Restaurants 2022 – in addition to its app, website, Top 100 listing and annual restaurant awards. In the Best UK Restaurants edition, Harden’s rates and reviews approximately 3,000 restaurants – by far the most comprehensive of the offline guides.

Each diner is invited to nominate restaurants in categories such as “Top Gastronomic Experience”, “Best Cheap & Cheerful” and “Most overpriced”. The survey also recently introduced a section for “Top Delivery”.

The marks and reports from the poll are subject to a rigorous statistical analysis as well as editorial curation. In a typical year, 8,000 diners contribute 50,000 reports, making it one of the most detailed market research exercises dedicated to eating out in the UK.

Everyone who takes part in the poll, contributing more than 3 reviews, will go into a prize draw for a luxury meal and stay at Mark Birchall’s renowned Michelin two-star, Moor Hall.

Everyone contributing 5 or more reviews will earn a free year’s subscription to Harden’s restaurant finder app (worth £4.99). Ten or more reviews earns a print guide (worth £16.99) and 20 or more reviews, a membership of Harden’s newly launched Platinum Club (worth £29.99).

Peter Harden commented:

It is a joy to re-launch our survey after such a dark period for restaurant-going, and to do what we love once more: curating the best and worst of diners’ eating out experiences to inform our readers choices.

With the passing of The Good Food Guide last week, Harden’s is now the only publisher of a comprehensive UK restaurant guide whose ratings and reviews are informed by customer feedback.
