LOCAL HOUSEBUILDER CELEBRATES FUNDRAISING SUCCESS FOR SEBASTIAN’S ACTION TRUST CHARITY

Local housebuilder Barratt Homes has cause for celebration after fundraising a total of £19,527.42 to date for Sebastian’s Action Trust in Crowthorne, Berkshire. Sebastian’s Action Trust is Barratt Southern Counties’ Charity of the Year for the second consecutive year, following a longstanding relationship between the two organisations that began more than three years ago.

Staff at Barratt Southern Counties have taken part in a number of fundraising events in recent months including sponsored swims, walks and runs, despite lockdown restrictions limiting traditional events.

Founded in 2003, Sebastian’s Action Trust offers emotional, social and practical care to over six hundred life-limited and life-threatened children and their families. The charity relies on donations to provide outreach support, respite breaks, financial and welfare support, and bereavement care to name but a few. Barratt Southern Counties’ most recent donation will be allocated across the charity’s services supporting many of their beneficiaries.

Simon Lillywhite, Fundraising & Communications Manager of Sebastian’s Action Trust, comments: ”We are thrilled to be supported by Barratt Southern Counties and are extremely grateful to have received this wonderful amount raised by the company and its employees. It will enable us to continue providing vital care to our families through COVID and beyond.

“As the country takes further steps out of lockdown, we recognise the importance of introducing new ways in which we can connect our families, address their feelings of isolation and ensure positive coping strategies are in place for the resilience and survival of those who are some of the most disadvantaged in society.

“The support of Barratt Southern Counties is making this possible and will help ensure the Trust is here for families of seriously ill children – always.”

Alongside this, Barratt Homes will also be providing the charity with updated signage to front their The Woodlands outreach centre in Crowthorne.

Lynnette St-Quintin, Sales & Marketing Director of Barratt Southern Counties, adds: “We are proud to support Sebastian’s Action Trust and the vital services they provide to seriously ill children and their families. We know that donations especially over the past year have been vital to keep the services accessible and mobile during the pandemic for the families the Sebastian’s Action Trust looks after. Everyone at Barratt is committed to continuing our fundraising this year, and we hope to raise even more for the charity.”
