London-based author and illustrator team create fourth Albert the Tortoise tortoise picture book

Walthamstow-based author Ian Brown and Haringey-based illustrator Eoin Clarke return with the fourth instalment of the Albert the Tortoise series.
In this story we see Albert wander out of his garden home, but he soon discovers the outside world is very dirty and busy for a little tortoise. Getting tangled up in some balloons, he is soon swept up into the air with no way back to earth. His insect companions and a few new friends team up in mission ‘Find Albert’ to help bring the wayward tortoise back home.

As well as continuing the adventures of everyone’s favourite tortoise, Albert in the Air also introduces children to important environmental issues including pollution and littering. It also covers a number of other key teaching points, including garden bird species, insect species, teamwork, helping others and problem solving, as well as providing children with many laughs.

Charming, colourful and nostalgic illustrations by Eoin Clarke accompany this entertaining and timeless tale, completed with a series of interesting tortoise facts.

The inspiration behind the Albert the Tortoise series of picture books is author Ian Brown’s family pet tortoise, also named Albert. Albert has gained many celebrity fans, including Michael Aspel, Joe Sugg, Julian Clary, Jeremy Clarkson, John Craven, Philip Ardagh, Vicki Michelle MBE, Clive Mantle, Danny Miller, Lydia Bright and Paul Whitehouse. Albert also has a large following on social media with over 3.4k fans on Facebook and 1.2k followers on Twitter.
Albert in the Air is also available as an animated eBook.
