Olise topped the overall rankings thanks in part to the growing interest in his fashion choices. Searches for “Michael Olise
fashion” increased 860% over the last year.

Known for combining relaxed streetwear with more tailored pieces, the French winger also recorded the highest Instagram engagement
rate among all nominees at 39%.

Ferran Torres recorded the biggest increase in style-related searches of any Ballon d’Or nominee, with queries combining his
name and the keyword “style” rising 3500% year-on-year.

The Spain international is a self-confessed sneakerhead and currently has an official partnership with
Under
Armour.

If Torres dominated style, Haaland owned the haircut conversation. No player generated more interest around their hairstyle
than Erling Haaland. Searches relating to the Norwegian’s haircut increased by 42,000% after he swapped his trademark long blond hair for a buzzcut.

Jordan Roberts, from Barbers No1, said: “I think a lot of it comes down to how big a change it was. Everyone associates
Haaland with his long hair, so taking it short gets people talking straight away. Even people who wouldn’t normally pay attention to his haircut notice the difference.

“The buzzcut always comes back around because it’s simple, looks clean and doesn’t take much effort to style in the morning.
There’s a confidence to it as well. For someone who’s had the same hairstyle for years, it can feel like a fresh start.”

Elsewhere, Jude Bellingham generated the highest Pinterest interest among all Ballon d’Or nominees. Searches associated with
his style exceeded 11,000 over the past year, highlighting his influence beyond football.

To determine the most stylish Ballon d’Or nominee, JD analysed year-on-year Google search growth for each player’s style, fashion
and haircut, alongside Instagram engagement rates and Pinterest search demand. Scores were normalised across each category and combined to create an overall score out of 10.
