London Tigers Celebrate Valdas Dambrauskas Ahead of Champions League Clash at Old Trafford
London Tigers are incredibly proud of former coach and Sports Development Manager Valdas Dambrauskas as he prepares to lead Sabah FC at the iconic Old Trafford Stadium this Thursday in the UEFA Champions League.
Valdas Dambrauskas’ remarkable football journey began at London Tigers, where he first joined the club as a volunteer and coach of our Under-18 team from The Lisson Green estate of City of Westminster.
His commitment, knowledge and passion for football soon saw him progress to the role of full-time Sports Development Manager and Head Coach of the London Tigers semi-professional first team, competing in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division between 2007 and 2010. He won the UK Asian Community Cup for London Tigers in Stamford Bridge a national football tournament organised by London Tigers then.
Now, years later, Valdas stands on the biggest stages in European football.
On Thursday, he will lead Sabah FC of Azerbaijan against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the UEFA Champions League — a remarkable achievement that reflects the dedication and hard work he has shown throughout his coaching career.
Making the occasion even more special for London Tigers is the presence of three former senior coaches from the club. Eddie Cardoso, Giorgi Minashvili and Justinas Gasiunas will be part of Valdas’ coaching staff as Sabah FC prepare to face one of the biggest and most historic clubs in Premier League football.
From volunteering and coaching young players at London Tigers to leading a team at Old Trafford in the UEFA Champions League, Valdas’ journey is truly inspirational.
London Tigers Founder and CEO Mesba Ahmed MBE Statement:
“We are incredibly proud of Valdas and everything he has achieved. We remember him not only as a talented coach, but as someone who showed enormous commitment, passion and dedication to our club and our players.
“To see him now leading Sabah FC into the Champions League at Old Trafford is a wonderful moment for everyone connected with London Tigers. The fact that Eddie, Giorgi and Justinas are alongside him makes it even more special.
“This is a fantastic example of where dedication, hard work and belief can take you. From London Tigers to the Champions League and Old Trafford — what an incredible journey.
“We wish Valdas, Eddie, Giorgi, Justinas and the entire Sabah FC team the very best for Thursday. We will be watching with immense pride and supporting you all the way.
