London’s Future Football Stars Given Chance to Have Their Kit Designs Brought to Life

Kicking off today, London based self-storage company Attic Self Storage launches its football kit design competition for kids and football teams in the city who want to show off their creativity and design skills. Future footballers and designers will be in with a chance to score their football team a personalised kicking kit by entering their design into the competition.

Football is the most popular sport for children in the UK, with 1.8 million playing in teams across the country. Long hailed as a method to keep kids active, make friends and stay out of mischief, Attic’s campaign hopes to encourage young Londoner’s to take up, or stay in the sport by showing how sport and creativity can go hand-in-hand.

The judging panel will see Lawrence Vigouroux (goalkeeper, Leyton Orient FC), Jaz Virgo (Junior Graphic and Print Designer at Gymshark), Ash Rahman (CEO of Pro Touch Soccer Academy) and Sophie Bagnall (Attic Marketing Director) referee the competition, choosing three winning designs that will be produced as the official kit for the team or club of the entrant.

Professional footballer Lawrence says: “Team kits have always been iconic for fans and players alike. We all grew up with a football top with our idol’s name on the back. Not only will giving young footballers their own team kit to make them feel like superstars, but I hope the kits will also make the teams feel a sense of togetherness and team spirit that is invaluable in a sport like football.”

Ash Rahman, co-founder and CEO of community soccer programme Pro Touch SA, whose mission is to use the power of sport to encourage young Londoners to unleash their potential says: “I am thrilled to be involved in this project, as it aligns so closely with Pro Touch’s mission and my own drive to support young aspiring footballers to find their feet within the sport. I have seen first-hand the difference a team kit can make to morale and aspiration and can’t wait to see the designs when they come in.”

The capital’s children can enter the competition by visiting the Attic website to download the kit template and draw their own designs on the template provided. Once the entrant is happy with their design, they will simply upload their design via the entry button on the same web page.
The competition invites children aged 6-15 years old to submit their unique designs for football kits that represent their team or club. Participants are free to use any colour combination and design elements they want, with the only requirement being that the design reflects the team or club in question.

There will also be an additional chance for one lucky child to win a one-off personal kit for themselves by sharing their design on Facebook using the hashtag #AtticStrikeingKit.

This initiative will be Attic’s fourth London community initiative, with the company aiming to continue to support the city it operates in via initiatives that give back. Sophie Bagnall, Marketing Director at Attic says: “At Attic, we put community at the heart of our business. We want to continue to give back to Londoners and support the city we operate in. This is another great initiative that will offer emerging young footballers the opportunity to come together as a team on confidence within their borough.”

The competition is now open and will run until 19th June 2023. Interested participants can submit their designs by visiting www.atticstorage.co.uk/design-a-new-kit-for-your-football-team. We encourage all football fans in London to participate and show off their design skills. Full details on how to enter, alongside the ts&cs
