MILTON KEYNES DEVELOPER PARTNERS WITH JOHN LEWIS TO DESIGN NEW SHOW HOME

The Mayor and Mayoress of Milton Keynes recently visited Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Woburn Downs development to officially launch a new show home designed by John Lewis & Partners.

Following the official unveiling with Councillor Mick Legg and Mandy Legg, the Ingleby style show home is now open to view and offers local homebuyers the very latest interior design inspiration.

Councillor Mick Legg, Mayor of Milton Keynes, and Mayoress Mandy Legg, said: “We were delighted to visit the show home at Woburn Downs and see for ourselves the high standard of the build. John Lewis has paid attention to the finer details of the furnishings and gives a very welcoming feel throughout the property.”

Hayleigh Titchner, Home Design Stylist at John Lewis & Partners, said: “This particular property used for the show home is great for professionals or even a young family, so we wanted to keep the colour palette vibrant and bold. We haven’t painted or wallpapered the walls as we wanted to make sure that the look can be achievable from the day a customer moves in.

“The designs consist mainly of blues, yellows and pinks, and this show home is a great example of not needing to pick one colour for a room and stick with it, and that actually you can mix two or three different colours to create interest.

“We love one of the children’s bedroom which has a transport and construction theme from John Lewis’ Little Home Range. During the opening, the children loved this room! They were playing with the toys and wanted to have their own bedrooms designed in the same way.

“We wanted to show that John Lewis can help you fill your entire home on a budget as there is often a misconception about John Lewis costing a lot. However, we have a range of furniture called ‘AnyDay’, which has a fantastic starting price and is great quality! Using this range meant that we could fill the entire four bedroom home for around £16,000.”

Located on Watling Street, Woburn Downs is located within easy reach of the M1, A5 and the A421. Potential homebuyers will be just six miles from the centre of Milton Keynes where there is an array of shops, restaurants and leisure activities for all of the family, including cinema or theatre trips and indoor skiing at Xscape.
