Modern Milkman is expanding its dairy range to offer something for everyone, with the introduction of premium “brewed milk” brand Mossgiel from Scottish organic farm Mossgiel Organic Dairy. Available to Modern Milkman customers from 15th April at an RSP of £2.80 for a 1 litre glass bottle.

Mossgiel’s “brewed milk” offers a seasonally evolving flavour. From light, melted-ice-cream sweetness in spring to richer, buttery notes in colder months, with a natural cream layer for texture. Gently pasteurised at a lower temperature (68°C for five minutes), it preserves proteins and full flavour while remaining safe and non-homogenised. The process is also highly efficient, using about 90% less energy than traditional methods.

Mossgiel represents the top tier of Modern Milkman’s curated milk offering. Its arrival comes as part of Modern Milkman’s ongoing commitment to providing a diverse range of options to suit all customers, from everyday staples to speciality products, as well as growing consumer demand for raw milk options.

While raw milk itself cannot be widely sold across the UK, the move marks the latest step in Modern Milkman’s strategy to champion high-quality, minimally processed dairy, giving households access to milk defined by provenance, flavour and a unique pasteurisation process.

The milk’s distinctive taste comes from Mossgiel’s grass-fed cows, which are fed a completely natural, seasonal diet free from concentrates, GMOs, chemicals and synthetic additives. Elements such as seaweed are included to provide natural iodine and support with the cow’s immunity, resulting in a clean, evolving flavour.

Every bottle supports regenerative farming and the highest animal welfare standards, bringing together two sustainably led businesses in the Mossgiel offering via Modern Milkman. Mossgiel was the first UK dairy to eliminate single-use plastics, while Modern Milkman reinforces this commitment through its reusable glass bottles and doorstep collection model, an approach still rare at scale for 1-litre formats nationwide. Together, they are helping to accelerate a more circular system, with further reuse and sustainability initiatives set to roll out over the coming year.

Jenny Thomason, UK Head of Commercial at Modern Milkman said, “We’re seeing consistent demand from our customers asking about raw milk and there’s a growing curiosity around where food comes from and how much is processed. Because raw milk is so tightly regulated in the UK, we set out to find the closest possible alternative that still meets the highest safety standards. Mossgiel stood out immediately.”

Bryce Cunningham, Managing Director of Mossgiel Organic Dairy and Farmer said, “People are looking for flavour, transparency and something that feels closer to the farm. We cannot sell fully raw milk widely in the UK so brewed milk is our answer to consumer curiosity. It makes fantastic coffee and incredibly rich porridge!”

Mossgiel milk will be available to purchase via Modern Milkman from 15th April at RSP: £2.80 for a 1litre glass bottle
