Start your adventure at Alton Towers Resort, home to some of Britain’s most iconic rides and attractions. From heart-pounding rollercoasters and record-breaking thrills to family favourites and immersive experiences, there’s something for everyone at Britain’s Greatest Escape.Dare to take on world-class coasters including The Smiler, Wicker Man and Nemesis Reborn, or enjoy a gentler pace exploring the park’s range of rides and attractions for families including the world’s-first Bluey ride – Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! Set among the stunning Staffordshire countryside, Alton Towers Resort is the ultimate destination for one last big adrenaline-filled adventure before summer comes to a close.

Next, head south to Warwick Castle, recently voted the UK’s best castle by Tripadvisor. Set across 64 acres of spectacular grounds, the 1,100-year-old castle brings the past to life with an action-packed line-up of live shows and experiences. Watch birds of prey take flight in The Falconer’s Quest, see Britain’s largest working siege machine in action in The Legend of the Trebuchet, or brave the gruesome Castle Dungeon for a more chilling take on Warwick’s past. Little ones can burn off some energy at the Zog Playland and catch the Zog Live show, while history-hungry kids (and adults) can lose themselves in the world’s first Horrible Histories® Maze alongside the legendary Rattus Rattus. With history, spectacle and plenty of thrills around every corner, it’s a fitting stop on the journey through the Midlands.

From Warwick, continue to nearby Bournville and Cadbury World, where the adventure takes a sweeter turn. Follow the story behind one of Britain’s best-known brands, hop aboard the Cadbury Chocolate Quest ride with Freddo, experience the 4D Chocolate Adventure and watch the attraction’s chocolatiers work their magic, with plenty of opportunities for a sweet treat along the way.

Finally, head into the city and dive beneath the waves at SEA LIFE Birmingham, where visitors can come face-to-face with incredible marine creatures and explore a world of ocean discovery in the UK’s only 360° ocean tunnel. Marvel at sharks, rays and hundreds of tropical fish swimming overhead, meet the UK’s first sea otters, Ozzy and Ola, and say hello to one of the nation’s most loved sea turtles, Mo, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday.

So, before packing away the sunglasses and accepting that summer is over, why not give it one last great adventure, or four?
