Nestled on the edge of rolling countryside while remaining within easy reach of everyday amenities, The Oaks will bring 90 thoughtfully designed homes to the area, offering a blend of rural tranquillity and well-connected living.
The development is expected to launch on the 16th May and will feature a mix of three, four and five-bedroom properties, designed to suit a range of buyers from growing families to commuters seeking a more peaceful setting without sacrificing convenience.
Each home at The Oaks has been carefully designed for modern lifestyles, with spacious, light-filled living areas, contemporary kitchens and high-quality finishes throughout. Energy-efficient features, including electric vehicle charging points and air source heat pumps, feature in all the homes to support more sustainable living.
Located just south of the A38 and within easy reach of the M1, the development offers strong transport links to Derby, Nottingham and Mansfield, while nearby Alfreton provides rail connections to destinations including Leeds, Liverpool and Norwich. A range of local amenities and well-regarded schools are also close by, making the location particularly appealing for families.
Residents at The Oaks will also benefit from a wealth of leisure and heritage attractions nearby. The development is within easy reach of the Peak District National Park, offering miles of walking and cycling routes through some of the UK’s most celebrated landscapes.
Closer to home, destinations such as Cromford Mills and Midlands Railway Museum at Butterly provide a glimpse into the area’s rich industrial heritage, while Shipley Country Park offers accessible green space for everyday recreation. A short walk away is Pennytown Ponds Local Nature Reserve, where residents can spot a variety of birds and other wildlife while enjoying a stroll through scenic surroundings.
As part of the development, Harron Homes will contribute over £670,000 to the local area through Section 106 funding, supporting key services including £556,654 towards education, £47,616 for local healthcare services, £45,135 for youth recreation facilities, £18,920 for outdoor sports facilities, and £8,000 for public transport improvements.
Natalie Griffiths, Sales and Marketing Director at Harron Homes North Midlands, said, “We’re delighted to be bringing The Oaks to Lower Somercotes, a location that offers beautiful countryside surroundings alongside excellent connections and local amenities.
“This development has been designed with modern buyers in mind, combining high-quality homes with a setting that supports both convenience and a more relaxed pace of life. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors when the sales cabin opens in May.”
A sales cabin will be on site at the development in May, giving prospective buyers their first opportunity to find out more and register their interest.
