New Design Talent Joins University of the Arts London’s not just a shop

University of the Arts London’s (UAL’s) popular retail space not just a shop, which sells products by students and alumni from the university’s six prestigious arts Colleges, has unveiled its latest cohort of designer-makers.

The new designers, sourced through open-calls, are all students and alumni from the university’s six prestigious art colleges (Camberwell College of Arts; Central Saint Martins; Chelsea College of Arts; London College of Communication; London College of Fashion and Wimbledon College of Arts).

not just a shop’s latest collection includes limited-edition prints, hand carved bamboo servers, vases made from tea-dust and stationery that supports women’s charities. The products have been created by emerging brands: An Idea So Beautiful, Clarisse Hassan, Dust London, Empty Cones, Extra&Ordinary Design, Girls Done Good, John Molesworth, Keeler & Sidaway, Mind the Cork, Selce and The Completist. The new products are now available to buy in the High Holborn store and via not just a shop’s online shop.

Since its launch in September 2017, not just a shop has sold 1,110 different lines by 117 artists and designers; providing many of them with their first experience of working with a retailer and an important launchpad for their businesses.

Managed by UAL’s Careers & Employability team, proceeds are invested back into running free talks and one-to-one business advice sessions to help UAL students and alumni to launch and develop their creative businesses. Visit notjustashop.arts.ac.uk for the ultimate feel-good shopping experience.
