New Immersive Space for Local Artists Unveiled in Repurposed Sainsbury’s Store
Get Living, the UK’s largest build-to-rent operator, is thrilled to announce the unveiling of a new immersive space for local artists in East Village, Stratford, made possible through collaboration with Hypha Studios, a charity that matches creatives with spaces for free.
Located within a former Sainsbury’s store, this new space will showcase a series of artists, and exhibitions and cement East Village as the gateway to East London’s creative district, further supporting Get Living’s strategy in creating an inclusive and sustainable urban neighbourhood for all to enjoy.
On show now is Taste the Difference, by Loess Collective, a team of Goldsmiths University postgraduates, which exhibits a satirical, food-centred show comprising painting, sculpture, performance, installation, and multimedia. The exhibition was titled in a nod to the space in which it is being showcased, as well as acting as a subtle reference to the different nationalities, backgrounds and ideas of each artist. Taste the Difference will be on show until the 26th of February. Also on show at the moment is Who holds the sword?, an exhibition encompassing sculpture, painting, installation and performance, skewing traditional gender norms via a contemporary medieval focus. Who holds the sword? was curated by three female artists and will be on show until the 10th of March.
