Newport Park gets boost from housebuilder

Independent housebuilder Dandara has donated £2,500 to Rogerstone Community Council to thank local people for the warm welcome it has received since starting construction work on the Parc Jiwbili development in Newport.
The money will be used for environmental improvements to the Welfare Grounds at Tregwilym Road in Rogerstone, which attracts thousands of visitors a year.

The popular park is a favourite with local walkers, families and sports lovers thanks to its beautiful scenery, riverside walks, community garden and range of facilities which include a meeting hall, children’s playground, trim trail, football pitches, cricket pitch and tennis courts.

Sally Mlewa, Chairperson for Rogerstone Community Council, said: “We are so grateful to Dandara for this very generous donation which will certainly be put to good use. The upkeep of such a well-loved and used local park gets more expensive every year so donations from supporters like Dandara are extremely important.

Tracey Gallacher-Thresh, Sales and Marketing Director at Dandara Wales & West, commented: “The park is a real hub for community activities in the Rogerstone area and I’m sure our new residents will enjoy exploring the area and attending some of the sporting and social events held there.”

Situated on the outskirts of Newport and around 30 minutes away from the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Parc Jiwbili development comprises 40 new two, three and four-bedroom homes offering beautifully designed living spaces with modern touches throughout.

For families, there is an excellent choice of primary and secondary schooling options in the area, including Jubilee Park Primary School just a short walk away. Residents will be able to enjoy the benefits of being close to the city whilst having plenty of green space on their doorstep. Rogerstone offers many popular eateries, shops and bars set against a beautiful countryside backdrop.

Prices start from £337,995 for the three-bedroom Afan semi-detached home. Also currently available to reserve is the Towy from £339,995, the Loughor also a three bedroom home from £359,995, the four bedroom Teifi from £469,995 and the double fronted four bedroom Wye from £569,995.

A new Ebbw show home is now open daily 10am to 5pm. For more information on the Parc Jiwbili development please visit www.dandara.com/parc-jiwbili or call 01633 494514.
