NORTHAMPTONSHIRE PUPIL SET TO HELP WELCOME NEW RESIDENTS HOME FOLLOWING CARD COMPETITION

Following a greetings card design competition with David Wilson Homes, an imaginative pupil from Hayfield Cross C of E School in Northamptonshire is spreading joy to residents at the homebuilder’s new development.

As part of a ‘Welcome Home’ campaign, the housebuilder reached out to the school nearby to its development Bertone Gardens in Barton Seagrave, for the help of the pupils in designing greeting cards to be handed out to new homebuyers.

Local pupil Micah Hall was the winner of the competition and will see his cards printed and delivered to new residents, in addition to claiming a £30 gift card.

The school also received a £150 voucher as a thank you for all of the children’s entries.

Dawn Fraser, School Business Manager at Hayfield Cross C of E School, said: “The children have really enjoyed taking part in this competition, they worked really hard on some wonderful designs. It is a privilege to know our School will have a part in welcoming new residents to Bertone Gardens.”

The scheme aims to provide a warm welcome to those making a fresh start with David Wilson Homes, whilst also highlighting key information about the local area.

The theme of the county-wide competition for schools is all things home related and the children are encouraged to be as creative as possible, adding in pictures and details about the suburb they live in.

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “It’s important to us to make new residents feel welcome as they join our new communities, and we’re thankful to the pupils of Hayfield Cross C of E School for helping us to do just that.

“Purchasers moving into their new homes is a great opportunity for greetings cards to be distributed and receiving a personal message from a local school pupil will really put a smile on their faces.

“We received a variety of inventive entries as part of the Welcome Home campaign and it was a difficult task choosing a winner, however we hope this project has inspired the imaginations of the children involved.”

Located in the newly formed community of Hanwood Park, Bertone Gardens is a neighbourhood which, once complete, will include a secondary school, up to four primary schools, green open space, employment areas, shops and healthcare facilities.
