PEACEHAVEN SITE MANAGER TAKES HOME TOP NATIONAL AWARD FOR QUALITY WORK

A site manager at Barratt Homes’ Chalkers Rise development in Peacehaven has been declared one of the best in the country in recognition of quality workmanship in the prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Awards.

Dan Reed has been recognised by the National House Building Council (NHBC) in the annual Pride in the Job Quality Awards. Considered ‘The Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry, the industry awards recognise and reward the best run building sites in the country – and are the highest accolade a site manager can achieve. In addition to frequent spot checks from the NHBC, Dan and the Barratt Southern Counties team were judged on their consistency, attention to detail, leadership, technical expertise, and health and safety measures.

Dan comments: “To be recognised in the Pride in Job Quality awards during my first year as site manager at Chalkers Rise is a huge honour. My predecessor won the award last year at the development, meaning that I had some big boots to fill when I stepped up to the role! It means a lot to myself and the site team to see our hard work being appreciated, and we can’t wait to raise the bar and challenge ourselves to achieve a higher score next year.”

In total, this year saw over 10,000 entrants for the awards, with just 450 individual winners being chosen. Of these, 93 site managers from Barratt Developments have been recognised, with the housebuilder having won more Pride in the Job awards than any other housebuilder for the 17thyear in a row.

Lynnette St-Quintin, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt Southern Counties, added: “We are very proud of Dan for winning such a prestigious award for his hard work at Chalkers Rise. The Pride in the Job Quality Awards recognises only the very best site managers for quality built new homes and well-run sites – and so winning is a great achievement. As well as being something that we can be proud of as a housebuilder, this recognition is also something that customers can look out for as a mark of quality craftsmanship when looking to buy a new home.”

Dan and his team are currently building a range a range of two-bedroom homes at Chalkers Rise, with prices starting from £223,995 for a two-bedroom apartment.
