Period flick Hedda Gabler gets DVD release

Period flick Hedda Gabler is set to get its DVD release this week!

The story of Hedda Gabler, Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen’s play, first published in 1890 and first performed in Germany in 1891, is produced in this new version by the young British film-maker, Matthew John, and was the first cut of the film opened the Henrik Ibsen Festival in Oslo, October 2016.

Hedda Gabler was written in a bygone age. However, the modern viewer may find in this film a stark warning of what could so easily still befall the female sex, even in our so called free world, with the rise of the wrong political leaders and their celebrated unfettered male traits.
