Phillip Schofield ‘very unlikely’ to be seen on TV again, says PR guru
PHILLIP Schofield is “very unlikely” to be seen on mainstream television again, according to a prominent PR specialist.
Mark Borkowski told GB News: “I think it’s very, very unlikely that Philip Schofield will find his way back on to mainstream TV.
“Listen, you never know, life is very strange and there could be a format somewhere looking for him, but in terms of the size of audiences and the scale of television work he did, nothing like that.
“Holly’s different. I mean, she’s certainly a big hope for ITV and I think they will be looking to protect and certainly her agent will be looking to protect her.”
In a discussion with Andrew Pierce and Dawn Neesom, he said: “She’s got a host of really lucrative commercial deals and is living in the commercial TV space. It’s much better to be a big star than perhaps being on the BBC, with all some regulations now being thrusted upon personalities.
“So, I think that it’s going to be difficult for her to come back to the sofa.
“They must rethink what This Morning is going to be without anchoring hosts of that sort of scale. But you wouldn’t write off Holly Willoughby and the power that is invested behind her because, ultimately, this is where it all started.”
On reports that Mr Schofield’s ex-lover is considering selling his story, Mr Borkowski said: “I think whoever is involved with this needs to do the best job at protecting this person from doing the wrong thing.
“Sometimes, mental health is far more valuable than the 10s or 20s of thousands of pounds and the horrendous upturn in your life.
“We are in a very different age and those who make a pact with the devil have to live with that for the rest of their lives.”
