Amid reports that Harry is threatening to publish another memoir containing unused material, Ken Wharfe told GB News: “I don’t think he is happy. When you look at him up to the point of his marriage, he was the joker and the most popular member of the royal family. He was more popular at that time than the late Her Majesty the Queen. Then suddenly, the popularity, both his popularity and Meghan’s popularity, plummeted to levels that I didn’t think anybody imagined.”
Commenting on his relationship with Meghan he continued: “She’s a very beautiful and intelligent young woman. So many people say he’s completely under her control. I can’t say that in all honesty, but it seems to me that something is not quite right with that relationship.”
Revealing how Harry had known from a young age he would forever be the spare’, Mr Wharfe added: “I don’t think that he had a problem with that. Why would he have a problem with that? It’s a good gig, isn’t it? No, it’s a great gig. They knew exactly who they were from day one. I remember traveling with both of them down to Highgrove, their father’s house in Gloucestershire one day.
“They’d already had a big spat before getting into the car. Diana was driving and the nanny was refereeing when suddenly, Harry leant across and said to William: ‘It’s all right for you, you will be King one day and I won’t. Therefore, I can do what I want.’
“I remember where the hell did he get that from? But the point is that’s exactly now what he’s done but I don’t think being the spare was actually an issue for him. None whatsoever.”
