Revealed: Elizabeth Olsen named fan’s favourite Marvel actress

WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen has been named the world’s favourite Marvel actress, based on an analysis of tweets around Marvel actors over the last year.

The research, conducted as part of the Self-Made Celebs study, showed that Elizabeth Olsen has seen the highest influx of positive tweets over the last year, compared to any other actor or actress who has starred in a Marvel film or series.

The Twitter sentiment analysis was conducted on tweets mentioning any Marvel actor/actress over the last year, and assigns a positivity and negativity score to each.

Elizabeth Olsen has seen the highest influx of fan support than any other actor or actress, following the smash hit series WandaVision being released at the beginning of this year which has left fans desperate for a second series.

This has placed her as a solid favourite above other Marvel actresses, including Brie Larson who landed in second place in the female list, and Scarlett Johansson in third place – which is somewhat surprising given Johansson’s frequent appearances in the MCU.

The top five popular Marvel actresses, based on fan support
1 – Elizabeth Olsen

2 – Brie Larson

3 – Scarlett Johansson

4 – Florence Pugh

5 – Karen Gillan
Surprisingly, Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson ranked third in the analysis, while Guardian of the Galaxy’s Zoe Saldana (Gamora) has seen the least support from fans on social media over the past year.

When it comes to the popularity of Marvel stars overall, Loki actor Tom Hiddleston ranked in second and Doctor Strange’s Benedict Cumberbatch followed closely behind. Guardian of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt (Star Lord) proved to be the least popular amongst fans.

Fans will be looking forward to seeing fan favourites Olsen and Cumberbatch hit the screen together in the upcoming and highly-anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness film, which is set to be released in March 2022.

Peter Bennett, Head of Brand Marketing at fair casino PlayOJO, comments on the analysis: “Although it’s clear that all the stars featured in the analysis are hugely supported by Marvel fans online, it is interesting to see how online sentiment varies from person to person.

“It’s also encouraging to see that the majority of interactions around the stars on Twitter are positive – particularly given the volatile nature of online forums.”

Other actors/actresses included in the analysis were Anthony Mackie, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, and Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman.
