Revealed: Jennifer Lopez named the world’s sexiest woman

Jennifer Lopez has been named the world’s sexiest celebrity, based on a sentiment analysis of Tweets around highlighted ‘Sexiest People Alive’ lists over the last year.

The research, conducted as part of the Self-Made Celebs study, showed that J.Lo has seen the highest influx of positive Tweets over the last year, compared to any other celebrity featured on recent Maxim and People ‘Sexiest Person Alive’ lists.

The Twitter sentiment analysis was conducted on Tweets mentioning any sexiest man/woman over the last year, and assigns a positivity and negativity score to each.

While J.Lo took the top spot as the world’s sexiest woman, according to fan support, it’s Supernatural star Jensen Ackles that fans named the most popular sexiest male, as highlighted by previous People lists, followed by Shawn Mendes and Patrick Mahomes.

Other sexy women who proved popular with fans included Mexican actress Eliza Gonzalez and Riverdale starlet Madalaine Petsch, while the analysis revealed that Russian model Irina Shayk saw the least support on social media over the last year, compared to other celebs.

People magazine has been naming annual lists of the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ since 1985, while Maxim has been crowning the ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ via their ‘Hot 100’ since 2000.

Other celebs analysed in the study included Prince Harry – who ranked 19th overall – Cole Sprouse, and Chris Hemsworth, who followed up behind Joe Jonas. Liam Hemsworth also featured, ranking four places below his brother Chris.

Peter Bennett, Head of Brand Marketing at fair casino PlayOJO, comments on the analysis: “Although it’s clear that all the celebs featured in the analysis are hugely supported by fans of their work online, it is interesting to see how online sentiment varies from person to person.

“It’s also encouraging to see that the majority of interactions around the stars on Twitter are positive – particularly given the volatile nature of online forums, and competitive nature of the Sexiest People Alive lists.”
