Most Affordable Cities

Travelling to new places is a great way to discover other cultures, but an issue many of us face is financing our much-wanted getaways. Considering the price of transport, our meals, and the price of accommodation, lastminute.com have analysed the most budget-friendly cities to explore:

Cairo, Egypt – The Egyptian capital has much to offer travellers: the iconic Giza Pyramids, the acclaimed Khan El-Khalili marketplace, and the vast Egyptian museum which is home to 5,000-year-old artifacts. An average day in the city will cost you £42.38 which includes the cost of a full day tour priced at £11.30 and the average price of transport at £4.19.

Mexico City, Mexico – The high-altitude capital of Mexico sits at 2,250m above sea level and is commonly known for its 13th-century Aztec temple, Templo Mayor. Mexico City comes in at second place on the Saver Cities list due to its affordability. The total price of food for a day in the city is £15.77 and includes the price of a single meal, a beer, coffee and the price of a bottle of wine. In total, you can expect to pay around £63.76 a day.

Antalya, Turkey – The Turkish resort city is renowned for its yacht-filled harbour and beautiful beaches flanked with large hotels. It has a lot to offer visitors from the alluring Düden Waterfalls to Hadrian’s Gate, built in the name of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. A day in Antalya can set you back £67.13 which includes accommodation at £11.00 per night, the second cheapest of the study.
