REVEALED: THE TOPPINGS THAT SHOULD NEVER GO ON A PIZZA ACCORDING TO ITALIANS

Fan of pineapple on your pizza? Like dipping your crusts in ketchup? Well listen up, because a new survey conducted by sourdough pizza pioneers Franca Manca has revealed some eye-opening truths about British pizza habits and exactly what Italians make of them.

With a whopping 96% of Italians believing their cuisine reigns supreme, it is perhaps no surprise they’re not shy about protecting its traditions… especially when it comes to the controversy that is pineapple on a pizza (sorry, Hawaiian lovers!). The survey revealed a staggering 50% of Italians consider pineapple on a pizza a cardinal sin.

A typical ‘meat-feast’ isn’t everyone’s slice of heaven and upsets 20% of Italians, and a quarter disagree with sweetcorn as a topping
Hot dog-stuffed crusts? A hard pass for 35% of Italians
30% disagree with dipping crusts in sauce – half of Italians think ketchup is the worst offender, closely followed by garlic (46%) and BBQ (45%)
Italians also say that Brits are guilty of mispronouncing a few of their key food terms, with ‘nduja (42%) and bruschetta (37%) topping the list
The survey also revealed that 41% of Italians believe drinking coffee with pizza is a culinary faux pas
