Rising Star D3LTA will sample Greek cuisine in every city on tour with Scouting For Girls

D3lta, one of the most exciting new acts to emerge on the British music scene has announced that he will be the main support for Scouting For Girls for most of their UK tour dates this month. This includes shows in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, York, Newcastle, Reading, Bristol, Brighton and Nottingham, starting this week.

To celebrate, the Athens-born star plans to visit a Greek cafe or restaurant in every city he visits, asking his fans for recommendations and documenting his discoveries on his social media over the coming weeks.

With a Greek and British parent the singer has grown up immersed in both cultures and is especially excited to perform in Manchester, the birthplace of his mother. Over the last few years, he has built a name for himself both in the UK and across Europe. Having pioneered his path away from the confines of stereotypes and labels he has championed freedom of expression through his poignant songwriting and flare for style.

In Greece, his single ‘Strange’ (2022) was playlisted by 40 of the country’s biggest radio stations, many of whom kept the track on rotation for the whole summer, significantly raising his profile throughout Europe and beyond. With a number of national TV and radio appearances under his belt, he went on to support London Grammar at Release Festival in his home city, Athens.

The beginning of 2023 saw D3lta’s permanent move to his second home, London, having performed regularly in the city over the last few years. March saw the release of his highly anticipated debut EP, ‘Into The Rabbit Hole’ with tracks totting up over 850,000 streams on Spotify alone, and widely covered by the UK media.

D3lta has experimented with his musical style over the last few years, moving through periods of rock-laced sounds to more exuberant pop. His influences extend widely from The Beatles, through to ABBA, Simon and Garfunkel, T Rex and Pink Floyd.

New single ‘Happy Out Of Love’ precedes the forthcoming tour dates and is a playful, almost vivacious breakup song. Uptempo, utilising mocking piano sounds and fantastic vocal arrangements, it’s a track you can’t help but move to, despite its more serious undertones. Co-written with Max Wolfgang (Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, Ashnikko, Olivia Dean) and produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Adele, Tom Walker), ‘Happy Out Of Love’ marks the next step on the journey for this very exciting artist. The accompanying music video was shot by rising star Roisino (Bellah Mae, Baby Queen) and is out on YouTube now.

“Happy Out Of Love was an attempt to fuse the charm of a West End musical with the energy of a modern pop song. We used to go and watch Mamma Mia all the time when I was a kid and was absolutely mesmerised by the performances and the effect of many voices singing a chorus together which was what inspired the chorus of the song. If I had to use a sentence to summarise what the song is about I’d say, it’s a celebration of being single”.- D3lta
