Riviera launches on Sky with 1.2 million viewers!

The first episode of Sky Original Production Riviera, starring Julia Stiles (the Bourne series), has been watched by 1.2 million viewers live and on demand, becoming the biggest launch on Sky Atlantic in 2017 – beating Big Little Lies and season two of Billions – and the most watched Sky Original Production premiere since season one of Fortitude.

Riviera was made available as a box set on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV from Thursday 15 June when the first episode premiered. Since then customers have taken advantage of being able to watch the show when and how they want. Within the first week it was downloaded more than 5.3 million times, a record for any new Sky box set, outperforming The Night Of, Billions, The Tunnel: Sabotage and season two of Fortitude.

And customers couldn’t wait to watch the second instalment of the extravagant thriller, as almost one million (965,000) already watched episode two on demand in the first five days before the linear showing on Thursday 22 June. An additional 281,000 people binge-watched all 10 episodes in the first week alone.
