Rugby for Heroes Named Official Charity Partner for LIT7s London 7s

LIT7s is proud to announce Rugby for Heroes as its Official Charity Partner for the highly anticipated 2024 London 7s tournament on 25 May.

Rugby for Heroes, a charity dedicated to supporting the men and women of the armed forces during their transition into civilian life, will not only be lending their name to the event as a charity partner but will also be fielding a men’s team in the tournament. The Rugby for Heroes team will have the privilege of being coached by none other than England Rugby legend, Tom Varndell.

Mike Tindall, former England Rugby International and Patron for Rugby for Heroes, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Rugby for Heroes are incredibly excited to be the Official Charity of the LIT7s London 7s. This is a great opportunity for our charity to reach a wider audience and spread our message to support men and women of our armed forces and their transition into civilian life. I believe LIT7s will shine a light on the unbelievable achievements these true heroes can accomplish.”

Tom Varndell, former England Rugby and England 7s international, will be leading the Rugby for Heroes team as their coach. Vardnell shared his excitement, saying: “I can’t wait to get involved with coaching the Rugby for Heroes team at the LIT7s London 7s. It’s going to be a great tournament to be a part of and I can’t wait to see what the team can do this season. It is great to be back into international 7’s again representing this fantastic charity team.”

The tournament will unfold at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, home of AFC Wimbledon, aand where London Broncos also play their fixtures. Notably, this marks the first time 7s rugby will grace the Stadium. LIT7s London 7s promises to be the biggest party of the Summer, featuring special guest pitchside hosts, celebrity DJs, the ultimate party stand, and electrifying entertainment both on and off the pitch.
