A runner from Wolverhampton finished the London Marathon despite breaking his calf bone during the race.

Wayne Goodhead, 59, who was running for leading vet charity PDSA, finished the London Marathon despite enduring pain during the race after breaking his calf bone.
Wayne felt something “give way” in his leg around a third of the way into the race and later found out he suffered a fractured fibula. Despite the injury, he carried on, driven by adrenaline and the incredible support from the crowds. He is now in a cast and awaiting confirmation on whether surgery will be required.

He ran the marathon to raise money for PDSA and has so far reached £967 – but he has a target of £3,000.
