SEFTON MP TAKES A TOUR OF NEW FORMBY DEVELOPMENT

Five star housebuilder David Wilson Homes recently welcomed Sefton Central MP, Bill Esterson, to one of its developments to see the progression of the site.

Mr Esterson attended Pinewood Park, a brand new community in Formby, to witness first-hand the work implemented by the housebuilder as it continues to create a new residential neighbourhood at the site off Liverpool Road.

The MP met with Robert Holbrook, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes North West, and was given a tour of the marketing suite and newly opened show homes at the development.

Mr Esterson then went on to meet with the site team to see how construction work is progressing since it first began in 2020. He witnessed the extra efforts the team are making in terms of health and safety and minimising the noise, vibrations and disturbance onsite for nearby neighbours.

Commenting on his visit, the MP said: “Quieter, low vibration piling is being used nearest to the existing housing on the Alt Road estate and I am pleased on behalf of residents that the developer is doing so.

“It is good news that 89 affordable homes are being built for social rent. I want to see these offered to young families from Formby as there is hardly any low cost housing in Formby. I was told the affordable homes are the same build quality as the homes for sale on the open market and this was reassuring to hear.

“I was reassured that flood risk for existing properties would not be made worse by this development, and this mirrors what planning officers at Sefton Council have told me previously. No housing developments should increase flood risk for existing residents living nearby.”

As part of this high quality residential development of over 300 new homes, along with its sister developer Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes will be delivering 89 affordable homes to help local people start on the housing ladder, as well as contributing more than £200,000 towards leisure and recreation improvements in Formby and the surrounding area.

Robert Holbrook said: “It was a great pleasure to welcome Mr Esterson to our Pinewood Park development and show him how work has progressed since construction first started.

“Investing into local communities is an extremely important part of building a new housing development and it was great to show Mr Esterson how we pride ourselves on not only delivering quality homes, but also contributing to Formby as a whole.”
