Silent Pool Gin helps mothers and daughters celebrate “Park Bench Day”

To celebrate the partial lift in restrictions and allowing park bench meet ups with a loved one, to co-incide with International Women’s Day and the lead up to Mother’s Day, the Surrey based award winning Silent Pool Gin have treated some derserving mothers and daughters to the ultimate park bench experience with a difference in the Surrey Hills overlooking the idyllic Silent Pool. Complete with socially distanced gin waiter, afternoon tea, flowers and stunning view, it was an emotional reunion for the ladies who have waited months for this moment.

Laina and Lois, from Surrey, are best friends as well as being mother and daughter. With Lois spending months away at College she has been unable to see her mum throughout the pandemic.
Mum of 4, Laina, who has built up a successful hairdressing business of over 30 years, has sadly lost her business due to lockdown.
She has home schooled her twin boys age 8 and has suffered with anxiety bought on by being unable to work and the loss of her business.

Laina said of the meet up “seeing Lois after months apart felt so special, she’s not only my daughter but also my best friend so it’s been incredibly hard. Silent Pool made it an occasion I shall never forget, we used to enjoy a G&T together on a weekend so it felt extremely poignant to bring us together over a gin and tonic in one of our favourite beauty spots! It’s been such a tough year, made worse by losing my business and not seeing Lois when all I wanted was a hug from my best friend and daughter. Meeting on a park bench is nowhere near enough but I shall take it and hope for more soon!”

Carol and Angela are mother and daughter gin lovers from Surrey and haven’t seen each other since the start of the second lockdown before Christmas. Angela has been home schooling her eight year old son whilst trying to work from home. Carol has finally had her vaccine and finally left the house after months of shielding!
