Study ranks the most fan-friendly Champions League Final stadiums

In light of the 2023 UEFA Champions League final on June 10, we decided to evaluate the recent finals host venues. SportingPedia based its ranking on the following criteria – seating capacity, food & beverages price score, distance from city centre, parking facilities, as well as public transport and airport options.

According to the report, Stade de France tops the ranking with 51 out of 60 points, closely followed by Estádio do Dragão (50 points) and Estádio da Luz (49 points). Although located in Istanbul which is relatively cheap to visit, Atatürk Olympic Stadium ranks only 9th due to its remoteness.

Key takeaways from our report:

* Wembley visitors pay the most for food and drinks – 86.1 price score (3 out of 10 points).

* Atatürk Olympic Stadium is located at the greatest distance from the city centre – 24km.

* Estádio do Dragão has the smallest capacity (50,003 seats) but ranks 2nd overall due to its convenient location and excellent public transport coverage.

* Parking facilities at Principality Stadium are limited exclusively to disabled visitors.

* Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid is the newest venue in the study – open to the football world since 2017.

In order to come up with the above and other interesting findings SportingPedia used reputable resources such as official club websites, the UEFA info centre, and the Numbeo cost-of-living database.
