Taylor Wimpey sponsors the Battle of Evesham Festival for second time

Thousands flocked to Evesham from 1st August to 3rd August to attend the Battle of Evesham Medieval Festival, which Taylor Wimpey Midlands sponsored for the second year running.

The festival, which took place on the Crown and Corporation Meadows in Evesham, features Europe’s largest 13th-century battle re-enactment. Taylor Wimpey Midlands was a main event sponsor of this year’s event with a £1,500 donation.

The Battle of Evesham took place in 1265 and is recognised as a pivotal moment in England’s political history. The main re-enactment event is performed by over a thousand re-enactors and 25 knights on war horses – all supported by over 80 unpaid volunteers and management.

Over the weekend, around 60,000 visitors enjoyed a grand parade, 150 artisan craft and authentic trade stalls, more than 30 food and drink traders, medieval music and dance performances, a tourney and a fashion show. The festival also featured two large living history camps, where re-enactors showcased aspects of 13th-century life such as wood turning, metalwork, needlework, and medieval cooking.
