Following recent research revealing 85% of families are looking to dine together more often this year, leading recipe box service HelloFresh has partnered with TV and radio personality Miquita Oliver to launch the Happy Hour initiative. The initiative shows Brits how they can claim back valuable time they’d normally spend in supermarkets, writing shopping lists and preparing dinner, with the ultimate dopamine hit of spending quality time tucking into delicious food with family and friends. HelloFresh is the perfect vehicle for this with its ability to help maximise busy days and make room for the things that bring us the most joy.

In anticipation of International Happiness Day, the leading recipe kit provider commissioned exclusive research to reveal what brings joy to the nation, with Saturday lunchtime being the time Brits are most relaxed. The vast majority (97%) of Brits feel that sharing that food is the top source of happiness in their lives, over simple pleasures such as drinking a glass of wine after a long day (29%) or receiving a cup of tea in bed (18%).

Classic dishes including Roast Chicken (47%), Spag Bol (38%) and Roast Beef (37%) were voted as some of the top dishes that bring a smile to Brits faces, coming in just behind the beloved Fish and Chips (50%). HelloFresh champions these favourite meals and more with over 40 recipes available on the website each week.

Speaking on the partnership, Miquita Oliver commented: “I’m so excited to be partnering with HelloFresh on this new initiative! Dancing and cooking in the kitchen with my Mum is one of the things that makes us happiest. Spending quality time as a family is rare and special – there’s nothing better than when we sit down together and enjoy a hearty meal. By using HelloFresh, families can claim back valuable time, as the majority of recipes prepared and served in less than an hour and the pre-portioned ingredients delivered straight to your door. I’d love for families to try their own Happy Hour this International Happiness Day.”

Senior Recipe Development Manager at HelloFresh, Mimi Morley also said: “We know how busy Brits are balancing relationships, work, pets, school runs and everything in between, that’s why at HelloFresh we want to do all we can to make life in the kitchen that little bit easier. With recipes that can be prepared and on the dinner table in less than an hour, we’re encouraging families to spend time together and enjoy their favourite dishes in a simple, stress-free way – the ultimate mood booster!”

Recipes are available to purchase on the HelloFresh website and app with prices starting at just £3.15 per person.
