Union J ‘axe’ former Stereo Kicks singer Casey Johnson
Union J have reportedly already booted former Stereo Kicks singer Casey Johnson from the band.
Casey joined the trio after George Shelley announced he was quitting back in March 2016 after appearing on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
The band are said to have got rid of the hunk after being signed up by new management who didn’t think he was the right fit.
They now want the original line-up – JJ, Jaymi and Josh – to continue as a three-piece.
A source said: “Management just didn’t think Casey was right for the band. They realised this over the past few months.”
They added to The Sun : “It was felt he could never really replace George and the band would be better off as a trio.”
Earlier this month, George was let go from his role at Capital FM’s Breakfast Show.
Meanwhile, speaking about their new sound, JJ said recently: “We’ve just come off tour, we’ve changed the music a little bit – we’ve gone down the more current (route). We’re known to do ballads but we took a year-and-a-half of to concentrate on what direction we want to go down.
