William Morris Gallery has unveiled a UK first: a custom-designed museum vending machine, offering an eye-catching selection of gifts, keepsakes, and beautifully crafted items inspired by the legendary designer William Morris.

Wrapped in Morris’s iconic Seaweed design, the vibrant vending machine was first launched at the Gallery as part of its 75th anniversary, where it quickly became a local sensation. Drawing crowds, sparking social media buzz, and inspiring plenty of selfies, the installation brings a fresh twist to festive shopping. Shoppers can purchase a range of products all available to buy from William Morris Gallery Shop online and in-store including, greeting cards, notebook, sketchbooks, glasses cases, leather purses, umbrellas, William Morris at Home hand creams and pouches plus tote bags.

The vending machine has just landed in Waltham Forest Town Hall and will be moving to other locations within the borough next year. The vending machine brings Morris magic to the streets; blending creativity, accessibility, and festive cheer. From stocking fillers to thoughtful presents, its curated selection offers the perfect seasonal treats for design lovers and families alike.

This one-of-a-kind initiative is an innovative approach to supporting the Gallery. As a free museum and historic site, the vending machine provides a playful but meaningful new revenue stream, supporting the Gallery’s award-winning exhibitions, educational programmes and community outreach.

All products and a wider range of gifts are available in-store and online via William Morris Gallery shop. For those on the move, the vending machine offers a new way to experience museum shopping. https://wmgallery.shop/collections/christmas-shop-1

Samantha Enstone, Managing Director at William Morris Gallery, said:
“William Morris believed in bringing art into everyday life – and what better way to have fun that than with a vending machine packed with beautiful, useful things? We’re thrilled by the public’s reaction so far. It’s a fun, creative, and accessible way for people to engage with Morris’s legacy and support the Gallery at the same time.”
