Woodhurst Park’s Gingerbread Post Room Welcomes a Visit From Santa

Santa’s Post Room has once again opened at Berkeley’s Woodhurst Park development in Warfield, near Bracknell. Over the last two weekends, children from Warfield Primary School and the development were invited to post their letters to Santa, and enter a gingerbread house artwork competition.

Local Santa Brian Pettifer, a grandad of three and resident at Woodhurst Park, has transformed his garden into a magical Christmas extravaganza for the second year in a row, including a gingerbread themed post room decorated with over 29,000 lights. Local children were invited to post their letters to Santa, with over 200 families visiting the post room, and the celebrations culminated in a ceremony hosted by Councillor Hugh Fitzwilliam on the 4th December, who awarded prizes for the winning gingerbread house artwork.

While the post room has now closed for the year, Brian will be fulfilling children’s wishes by delivering gifts to residents at Woodhurst Park via sleigh on Christmas morning for the third year running.

Brian, who is also a member of Woodhurst Park’s Residents’ Association, commented: “We’ve been working since August to increase the scale of this year’s Christmas plans, and it’s been absolutely brilliant to see it all come together and to bring so much joy to everyone at the development. We have such a strong community spirit here, and I’m honoured to be a part of keeping the magic alive for the children at Woodhurst Park.”

Benjamin Ivey, Sales and Marketing Director for Berkeley Homes, comments: “Places are often made by people, and it is residents such as Brian who make the Woodhurst Park community so warm and inviting. We are very lucky to have such an active Residents’ Association engaging with our residents throughout the year and would like to congratulate Brian for his amazing pop-up post room.”
