YOUR Personal Training announces partnership with leading UK gym operator, Anytime Fitness
Swansea headquartered YOUR Personal Training (YPT), the UK’s leading self-employed personal training platform, has announced a new partnership with leading UK gym operator, Anytime Fitness, in a move that underlines continued momentum behind flexible PT delivery in the UK fitness sector.
Specifically, the deal with Anytime Fitness – who have a portfolio of over 185 franchised clubs totaling over 190,000 members across the UK & Ireland – covers sites operated by Zest Leisure in South West, West and North West London, and will see YPT recruit and support self-employed trainers to operate within the clubs, with roles live immediately.
The rollout targets high demand urban locations where operators are increasingly turning to outsourced and entrepreneurial PT models to drive member engagement and secondary spend.
Under the partnership, trainers will operate on YPT’s established framework, retaining 100% of their earnings while accessing structured business support, including its Forward development programme and PT Hub. A limited number of PT licenses per site is intended to protect earning potential and reduce competition, with full time trainers typically generating £50,000 plus annually. New starters will also benefit from an initial rent free period to build their client base.
The agreement reflects a wider shift among UK operators towards self-employed PT models that reduce fixed staffing costs while improving retention and performance through business ownership. For Anytime Fitness franchise partners such as Zest Leisure, the model offers a scalable way to enhance in-club coaching without increasing payroll exposure, while aligning trainer incentives with member results.
James Lorey, Co-owner and Director at YOUR Personal Training, comments: “London remains one of the most competitive and opportunity-rich PT markets in the UK, but trainers need the right environment to succeed. This partnership is about creating that environment at scale, giving self-employed PTs access to high quality clubs, strong member bases and the commercial support needed to build resilient, long-term businesses.”
David O’Donnell, Founder of Zest Leisure, added: “At Zest Leisure, we are committed to providing the best possible environment for both our members and our teams. Partnering with YOUR Personal Training enables us to invest even further in our Personal Trainers – helping them grow their businesses, develop their skills, and ultimately enhance the experience we offer in our clubs.”
The partnership further strengthens YPT’s national network of more than 420 gym partnerships, leveraging Anytime Fitness’ 24-hour operation model; marking a targeted expansion into high demand London locations where personal training continues to perform strongly.
Applications are now open to both newly qualified and experienced trainers with a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, with immediate opportunities available across all six sites.
