Yule be sorry to miss out on Terre à Terre’s festive offerings
This Christmas, celebrate the season at one of Brighton’s top-rated restaurants, Terre à Terre, where a flavour-filled menu of festive treats awaits. With The Festive Set and a Sharing Party Menu to choose from, Terre à Terre is celebrating the season with its characteristic warmth and creativity.
Priced at £45 per person and available from Thursday 27 November, The Festive Set is a three-course extravaganza taking guests on a flavour filled journey celebrating the season. With a choice of three dishes for each course, the first decision is which tantalising starter is going to kick things off. Indulge in a beloved classic with the Jaipur Jonny Brinjal – a hot and crispy coconut maize chaat-spiced fritter served with Bengal butter-baked aubergine – wrap chilly hands around a steaming bowl of Sleigh Soup & Turnover – rich cauliflower cheese soup paired with a hot cumin Gouda pastry turnover – or opt for Little Crackers – Toppogi Korean rice cake crispy sticks with almond gochujang satay, fresh pickled cranberry lotus root and sesame smashed cucumber.
Satisfyingly appetized by starters, look ahead to a delectable main course that will be sure to invoke the Christmas spirit. Terre à Terre puts its signature herbivorous twist on a German classic with its rendition of Himmel Und Erde – a torta lenticchia cake topped with pippin cider butter baste and slow cooked Stamppot choux and root. Or for a dish that is both flavourful and Sussex to the core, opt for the Snowflake Soufflé, a ricotta soufflé pillow topped with winter savoury sunflower seed pesto and crumbly Sussex Charmer cheese, served with Queen Bean Chestnut and Legume Caponata – the perfect dish for cheese lovers. Last but not least is the rich and warming Port Pie & Crimbo Crack Cube, comprising of a hot sticky savoury mushroom ruby port pie and porcini crack pastry, served with a sizzling cube of all the trimmings. Winter warmers prepared and served with Terre à Terre’s signature twinkle.
It wouldn’t truly be the season of indulgence without allowing for a spot of dessert, and The Festive Set has got guests covered with three tasty puddings. Dive into a seasonal classic dessert, Figgy Puddin’, served with XO sherry and vanilla cinnamon Chantilly cream and a damson plumplump; or try the chocolatey sensation that is the Cocoa Coup, a chocolate Marsala and hazelnut trifle mousse, finished with mandarin ice and candy. Or finish things off with the Hot Shot, combining a double espresso with salted caramel ice cream and a shot of walnut liqueur, sure to leave a warm and fuzzy feeling in all those who indulge in it.
Those looking for more of the sharing spirit will delight in the Sharing Party Menu, priced at £42 per person and including a delicious range of Terre à Terre’s best-loved dishes in tapas form, along with a sizzling side of Hot Salty Frits. Enjoy menu icons such as Better Batter – soft buttermilk-soaked halloumi dipped in chip shop batter – alongside flavour sensations including the Butterbean Brandade & Smoked Tomato Harissa – butterbean Brandade topped with smoked tomato ancho and caraway harissa with Lavash crispbreads – before rounding off the meal with The Cocoa Collective, which brings together a selection of delightful sweet treats to celebrate the season in the right way.
The distinctive flavours of Sussex extend beyond the plate, being fully represented in Terre à Terre’s thoughtfully crafted drinks list that brings together organic, biodynamic and Sussex-made wines. The expertly curated wine list features wines chosen to complement the flavours of each dish. Alongside, a unique selection of cocktails and delicious grown-up mocktails is on offer to lift spirits, bringing distinctive and refreshing flavours to the table.
