Chesterfield fitness studio offering free self-defence classes for women after death of Gracie Spinks
A Chesterfield fitness studio is offering a free self-defence class for women after Gracie Spinks’ tragic death.
Daniel Harris, the founder of Studio 44, is working with self-defence instructor Jade Ashleigh to help women in the local area to grow more confident in defending themselves.
“We will host the self-defence workshop on Sunday 1st August – 10 am – 11.30 am,” Daniel said. “Ladies will learn techniques which will enable them to learn how to defend themselves and escape if a dangerous situation ever occurs.

Jade has been training for 17 years and is a fourth dan black belt. She has been running her own self-defence school ACMAC Martial Arts Staveley within Studio 44 for the last two years.
Jade is a PE teacher at The Garibaldi School in Clipstone and has won seven European, British and English titles in martial arts.
The collaboration comes after Gracie died following an attack in the Duckmanton area in June.
Gracie’s funeral took place on the 23rd of July with many Chesterfield locals turning out to pay their respects to her.
