‘Made in Chelsea’ Star Releases Children’s Book Amidst Touching Journey to Become a ‘Happy Dad’
Always outrageously honest and wildly funny, the undisputed break-out star of ‘Made in Chelsea’ and acclaimed children’s book author Ollie Locke is certainly no stranger to the spotlight. With his wedding to husband Gareth watched by over 3.5 million people worldwide and his social media channels attracting hundreds of thousands of fans, his voice soars above the chatter online and makes a lasting impact.
That’s why, as Locke prepares to release his second children’s book, ‘The Faraway Adventures of Henry Bogget’, he’s also opening up publicly about his and Gareth’s quest to become parents and the challenges faced by same-sex couples going through the same journey.
With the first instalment in the ‘Henry Bogget’ series, Locke displays his unique ability to capture the imaginations of children, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary and everyday objects into truly magical things.
Synopsis:
Now, I imagine you have probably spotted those blue plaques dotted around London. They are there to mark the achievements of people who changed history while they lived or worked there. But answer me this: have you ever seen them sparkle as though struck by fairydust? Because trust me: if you watch closely at precisely the right time, you’ll see how they shimmer and shine, inviting you towards them.
There are many, many secrets hidden around London and the truth of the blue plaques is one of the best! And one of the better-kept, too. But I’m going to share it with you – and only you! – so promise me you’ll listen closely and pay good attention. Let’s discover the hidden magic around London and travel far and away together to new lands and on strange new adventures.
“There’s nothing more important to me than sharing the joys of fatherhood with Gareth,” says Locke. “We’ve gone through two rounds of IVF and though they haven’t been successful, we’re absolutely determined to meet our child and will keep going until that happens. We’ll also keep fighting for other same-sex couples as we lobby for change – there are just too many roadblocks put up in our paths toward parenthood and it isn’t right. Gareth and I are resolved to change that.”
Continuing, “Writing children’s books, including my first bestseller, ‘The Island of Fandye’, is hugely therapeutic as we go through this journey. I love hearing from parents about how their little ones were captivated by the stories and kept asking for one more page at bedtime. It makes me even more excited to share Henry and his adventures with the world.”
‘The Faraway Adventures of Henry Bogget’ will be released on April 18th, 2023.

About the author:
Ollie became a household name back in 2011 when he hit our screens as an original cast member of Channel 4’s BAFTA award-winning tv series Made in Chelsea. Since then he has gone on to become a television favourite featuring on shows such as Celebrity Big Brother, Bear Grylls: The Island and Celebrity Hunted, as well as acting roles in the ITV2 comedy Plebs and the Micheal Winterbottom film Greed, starring alongside Isla Fisher and Steve Coogan. Ollie became a Sunday Times bestselling author in 2014 with his debut autobiographical comedy Laid in Chelsea. More recently he has brought out the first of the trilogy of children’s books, The Island Of Fandye, reaching Number 2 in the Amazon Bestsellers charts.
Ollie and his husband Gareth got married on Made In Chelsea in November 2020, and the episode became the highest watched wedding worldwide of 2020 with over 3.5 million people tuning in that week alone. Ollie and Gareth are on journey to become parents; in the past year they have had 2 rounds of IVF, but sadly they remain unsuccessful. They have decided to share the whole process on-screen and with their social media following. They are currently lobbying for legal change to make it easier for same sex couples to have a family and are about to go for their 3rd round in their journey.
Known for his humour and honesty, Ollie has become a trusted favourite in British television and entertainment for over a decade.
