Christopher Biggins has revealed he is taking weight loss drugs after a knee replacement operation.
Speaking on GB News Christopher Biggins said:
“I’m on Mounjaro and I think it’s good,” he said.
“I’ve had a new knee put in, and I needed to lose weight because of the pressure on the knee.
“They’re now finding out that this drug can cure a lot of other things and help with addictions although we don’t know the side effects.
“I’ve got a huge amount of new bikinis, which I’m wearing which look fabulous.”
His comments emerged in the wake of a study which showed how 421 patients undertaking weight loss treatments found people on GLP-1 injections took a third fewer days off because of ill health.
The number of sick days taken by the study group fell to 334 days from 517 before they started taking the jabs.
Studies show obese patients who have had surgery such as knee replacements have a higher risk of developing infections, wound healing problems and other complications.
The pressure on joints of excess weight is also a factor in needing the surgery in the first place and increases the chance of the operation needing to be repeated.
