Worcestershire-inspired holiday home celebrating Edward Elgar to make debut at BBC Gardeners’ World Live
A new holiday home inspired by Worcestershire’s most famous composer and the landscapes that shaped his music is set to make its public debut at BBC Gardeners’ World Live this week.
The Elgar, a bespoke holiday home inspired by Sir Edward Elgar and the Worcestershire countryside that influenced many of his most celebrated works, will be unveiled at the NEC Birmingham from 18-21 June by family-run holiday park group Allens Caravans.
The new model takes its inspiration from Elgar Country – the rolling Worcestershire landscape that inspired masterpieces including the Enigma Variations and remains closely associated with the composer today. The Elgar has been designed exclusively for the company’s Allens Collection and is a completely bespoke holiday home.
Visitors to BBC Gardeners’ World Live will be among the first to step inside the holiday home and discover the Worcestershire inspiration behind its design.
The launch also shines a spotlight on Bredon View Holiday Park Estate, Allens Caravans’ Worcestershire park near Tewkesbury, where visitors can experience the same countryside that inspired the new holiday home.
James Allen, CEO of Allens Caravans and a third-generation member of the Allen family, said: “Sir Edward Elgar is one of Worcestershire’s most celebrated figures and his music was deeply influenced by the landscapes around him.
“Those same landscapes continue to attract visitors today, whether they are exploring the Malvern Hills, the Severn Valley or enjoying the beautiful countryside surrounding Bredon View and other locations across the county.
“When we created The Elgar, we wanted to celebrate not only an iconic composer but also the sense of peace, space and connection with nature that his work evokes. Worcestershire has such a rich cultural heritage and we wanted that to be reflected in the design.”
As part of its appearance at BBC Gardeners’ World Live, Allens Caravans will also be offering exclusive incentives, including no running costs until 2028 on selected holiday homes purchased through the event.
Holiday homes are available from £24,995, with the team on hand throughout the show to discuss ownership opportunities and the lifestyle benefits of owning a holiday home in some of the UK’s most scenic countryside locations.
