CELEBS TURN UP THE HEAT IN SHOREDITCH FOR THE CÓDIGO 1530 PENTHOUSE RESIDENCY LAUNCH
East London’s creative community gathered high above the city to celebrate the launch of the Código 1530 Tequila cultural residency at the Aethos Penthouse in Shoreditch.
Phoenix Brown, Clara Amfo, Henry Holland and a host of creatives, tastemakers and cultural figures sipped Código 1530 Rosa Spritz cocktails as the sun set over the London skyline, with the Aethos Penthouse terrace providing the perfect backdrop for the launch.
Benji B, Jamz Supernova and Grace Raw Silk took to the decks, soundtracking the evening with a genre-spanning selection that moved effortlessly between soul, jazz, house and forward-thinking club sounds, reflecting the boundary-blurring musical culture that has long defined East London’s creative scene.
Running throughout June and July, the residency will see music communities Small Talk, Rhythm Section and Test Pressing take over the rooftop for a series of Friday Sunset Sessions, with DJs including Moxie, Alex Nut and Scarlett O’Malley bringing together some of London’s most respected selectors.
On Saturdays, the programme shifts to food, with a series of one-off collaborations celebrating contemporary Mexican cooking. Chef Karla Zazueta will join forces with Will Bowlby (Kricket), Helen Graham (formerly of Bubala) and Michelin-starred chef Brad Carter (Island) to create a residency inspired by Mexican heritage, open-fire cooking and bold, seasonal flavours.
