AlRayan Bank, the UK’s oldest and most successful Islamic bank, has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, and announced significant progress in its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments, reinforcing its position as a leader in ethical and sustainable banking.

The Bank’s 2025 Sustainability Report highlights a series of achievements that demonstrate its commitment to responsible growth and positive impact:

Maintained carbon neutrality for the third consecutive year, offsetting all operational emissions through verified schemes.
100% renewable energy now powers all UK offices, supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.
75% reduction in paper usage since 2019, driven by digital-first initiatives and customer engagement.
78% increase in rail travel for domestic business travel.
£74,578 donated to UK charities in 2024, alongside continued support for global education projects through its ‘Educate a Child International’ partnership.
Employee volunteering scheme launched, offering paid time off for community work.
Wellbeing and health initiatives expanded, including free health screenings, mental health first aiders, and creative programmes.
Electric Car Scheme saved nearly 11,000 kg of CO₂, with 12 EVs ordered and EV charging points installed at the Bank’s Birmingham office.
