London’s O2 Arena tops list of UK venues with most expensive pints at nearly £10 each
The O2 Arena in London serves the most expensive pints of any UK arena, with prices reaching up to £10.00 per beer.
The research, conducted by trusted ticket comparison site SeatPick, analysed Google Reviews from the past two years for mentions of beer prices across UK indoor arenas. Venues with a seating capacity of at least 5,000 have been used in the study to determine which charge the most for a pint.
The O2 Arena, with a capacity of 20,000, takes the top spot, with an average pint price of £9.48. Based on the lowest price of £8.95 and the highest price of £10.00, the iconic London venue charges almost double for a pint compared to the cheapest arenas in the country.
Manchester’s AO Arena and London’s OVO Arena Wembley tie for second place, with a pint costing £9.00 on average. AO Arena, with a capacity of 23,000, offers pints ranging from £8.50 to £9.50. The 12,500-capacity OVO Arena Wembley charges between £8.00 and £10.00.
Three arenas tie for third place with an identical average pint price of £8.88: Utilita Arena Birmingham, with a capacity of 15,800, First Direct Arena in Leeds, with a capacity of 13,781, and Utilita Arena Newcastle, with a capacity of 11,400. Birmingham’s prices range from £8.00 to £9.75, while both Leeds and Newcastle charge between £8.50 and £9.25.

Manchester’s Co-op Live, the newest and largest arena in the UK with a capacity of 23,500, ranks fourth. With an average pint price of £8.68 and costs ranging from £8.35 to £9.00, the venue is slightly cheaper than other major venues.
In fifth is P&J Live in Aberdeen, with an average pint price of £8.48. The 15,000-capacity venue, which is Scotland’s largest indoor arena, charges between £7.95 and £9.00 for a pint of beer.
At the other end of the scale, Westpoint Exeter and Glasgow’s Braehead Arena tie for the cheapest pints, both charging a flat rate of £5.00. These 7,500 and 8,000-capacity arenas, respectively, offer pints at nearly half the price of The O2 Arena.
London’s Copper Box Arena, built for the 2012 Olympics, ranks as the second cheapest venue. Despite its London location, the 7,500-capacity arena bucks the trend of high prices in the capital with a flat rate of £6.00 for a pint.
Bournemouth International Centre follows as the third cheapest venue. With an average pint price of £6.25 and prices ranging from £5.50 to £7.00, the 6,500-capacity venue on the south coast offers significantly better value than venues in major cities.
The Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes ranks as the fourth cheapest venue. The 5,000-capacity venue, often used for snooker and darts tournaments, charges between £6.00 and £7.00 for a pint, with an average of £6.50.
The fifth cheapest UK venue for a pint is The SSE Arena in Belfast, with an average price of £6.60. The 11,000-capacity venue charges between £6.20 and £7.00.
