British Fashion House self-portrait to Open London Pop-Up

London-based fashion house self-portrait has revealed a new campaign with its latest face, Jisoo, the South Korean multi-award-winning musician.

The series of portraits were captured at a recording studio in Seoul by Yoon JiYong and see her transform from playful to serene, wearing dresses from self-portrait’s Pre-Fall collection – each of them chosen specifically by Jisoo on set, to showcase the versatility of her character, and chameleonic style.

Han Chong, Founder and Creative Director of self-portrait said:
“What I have come to discover through working with Jisoo is that she is a real chameleon and loves to experiment with her wardrobe. We decided to shoot her in a recording studio – a place where she feels at home and comes to life – to capture her at her most authentic self. Her selection of off duty denim and relaxed twinset knits to fun partywear and evening gowns shows the full spectrum of her own personal style and felt like a diary of a pop star.”

For this latest chapter, Jisoo charts a day in the life of a pop star, wearing mini dresses in taffeta, soft denim and self-portrait’s iconic Guipure lace, a delicate knit two-piece set, and elegant evening designs in taffeta in red and black.

To celebrate the new campaign, for the first time self-portrait will be hosting a series of installations and pop-ups, open to the public, which will bring the campaign setting to life in Seoul and London. The pop-up in London will recreate the backdrop of the recording studio, and will house the latest collection including pieces selected by Jisoo for the campaign. The installation in Seoul will display the campaign series in giant formats. Both activations will allow communities to take and reflect on their own self-portraits.

The collaboration between self-portrait and Jisoo is the first time self-portrait has worked with a musician to front its campaigns, and is the first project released since Jisoo announced her own agency, BLISSOO earlier this year, marking her journey into becoming an independent artist.

Jisoo follows in the footsteps of previous self-portrait faces including Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Irina Shayk, Bella Hadid, Kate Moss and Phoebe Dynenvor.

The Pre-Fall collection is available online at self-portrait.com, in self-portrait stores globally and through an international network of retailers.
Established in 2013 by Han Chong, self-portrait has become synonymous with empowering the modern woman through functional dressing for day and night. The brand is also strongly committed to supporting creative talent through a number of initiatives including a scholarship program with Central Saint Martins in London.
