Cheshire Charity Welcomes Amazon’s Support

The team at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Manchester has donated £1,000 to a charity in East Cheshire that supports adults with learning disabilities/autism.

Time Out Group is a fun and friendly group for adults with learning disabilities/autism living in East Cheshire and the surrounding areas.

The charity organises activities that are designed to develop independent living skills, get active, improve their wellbeing and to encourage people to become part of the community that they live in.

The charity will use the donation for the Life Skills Programme, which provides weekly activities to help people learn new things like how to use a computer and stay safe online. The programme also includes practical sessions, getting out and using public transport.

The charity was nominated for support by Hannah Moody, who works at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Manchester. She said: “Time Out Group is a brilliant charity in Cheshire that does many wonderful things in the community and I’m so pleased Amazon is making this donation.”

Ian Jackson, Site Leader at Amazon’s Manchester fulfilment centre, added:

“The staff and volunteers at Time Out Group put a lot of effort into creating a community environment for people with learning disabilities/autism and we are pleased to support the charity with this donation. Time Out Group has made a real difference to people’s lives, and we hope this donation contributes to their great work.”

Anne-Louise Black, Deputy Charity Manager from Time Out Group, added: “We rely on support like this so we can deliver our services and we are pleased to receive this donation from Amazon. Our charity is a welcoming space where our members can enjoy fun activities in a safe environment, and this donation will be warmly welcomed by everyone at Time Out Group.”

The charity received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
