Evesham site manager named one of the UK’s best

An Evesham site manager has won a second award for their commitment to quality in housebuilding this year, cementing their status as among the top 100 site managers in the UK.

Jamie Wood, who oversees work at Taylor Wimpey’s Abbey Grange development, has received a Pride in the Job 2026 Seal of Excellence Award from the National House-Building Council (NHBC).

The award is the next step up from the Quality Award that Jamie won earlier this year, and demonstrates that the homes at Abbey Grange are of the very highest standard.

Abbey Grange is bringing over 200 new homes to Evesham, which will all feature PV panels, EV charging points, and triple glazing to help reduce energy costs and support a more sustainable lifestyle.

Pride in the Job celebrates site managers’ dedication to raising standards, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence. Judging is rigorous, with thousands of assessments taking place across 7,500 sites.

Only 450 people were selected as Quality Award winners this year – with 47 of those working for Taylor Wimpey – and only the very best are then awarded the Seal of Excellence.

Jamie said: “Winning a Seal of Excellence Award is a special moment for me and my team. Pride in the Job is so important to site managers. It’s often talked about as the Oscars of the housebuilding industry, so to be amongst the few people to receive the honour this year makes me feel very proud.

“We’ve worked really hard to ensure that our standards are high across all aspects of our work as we want to make sure that we build the very best quality homes for customers. I want to thank my team for their fantastic support.”

Jamie will now go forward to compete for the Regional Award, as well as the ultimate prize in house building, the national Pride in the Job Supreme Awards, which will be unveiled at a gala ceremony in London in January 2027.
