Galliard Homes launch further extension to their Stamp Duty Land Tax holiday and raise the threshold to £700,000

Leading developer Galliard Homes is launching a further extension to their extremely popular Stamp Duty Land Tax holiday, and has raised the threshold to £700,000, giving buyers until 31st January 2022 to save up to £25,000 on a new property.

This increase and extension can be used on all new purchases at Newham’s Yard on Tower Bridge Road and Wimbledon Grounds in Wimbledon, and on select new purchases at Orchard Wharf in London’s Docklands, each offering buyers stylish modern homes in sought-after locations.

The extension gives buyers five months to benefit from the extra savings, after the Government’s ‘tapered end’ to the holiday finished last month. The stamp duty extension can also be used in addition to Galliard’s other buyer incentives, with a huge range of savings available.

The stamp duty extension applies on the first £700,000 of the purchase, with Galliard paying the tax due on properties which exchange before the 31st January deadline. Galliard says that the increased threshold is in response to the types of buyers who are looking at their properties, who can afford the purchase price but the added cost of stamp duty is a barrier. Paired with the offer of having the new homes fully furnished free of charge, Galliard is looking to help more Londoners secure their new homes, whether they are first-time buyers, young professionals or families wanting to make their next step.

David Galman, Sales Director at Galliard Homes says: “Throughout 2021, Galliard is proud to have offered an extension that goes above and beyond the Government’s Stamp Duty Land Tax savings, and we have seen how many buyers have benefitted from this extra money in their pocket. The housing market has faced many challenges during the pandemic and the ‘bottleneck’ effect of the original stamp duty holiday caused many buyers to lose out on their dream homes. In addition, Stamp duty can be a costly barrier for many hard working people who need to move home. We are proud to be offering a further five months of savings, and a higher threshold of up to £700,000 meaning even more buyers save up to £25,000 at our key London developments.”
