I’m delighted to introduce #ExperienceIndonesia, a series of free festivities taking place in London in November, where individuals can immerse themselves in Indonesian culture, food and fashion.

Made up of more than 17,500 islands, from beautiful Bali to awe-inspiring Kalimantan, Indonesia is known for its breath-taking landscape, delicious cuisine, historic temples, and warm, welcoming culture. Discover what makes Indonesia so special at one of three exciting events:

Experience Indonesia: What’s On
Indonesian Day: Sunday 6th November
Time: 11am – 4pm

Address: Vinegar Yard, 72-82 St Thomas St, London SE1 3QX
Celebrate all things Indonesia with this food and art bazaar. There’ll be live music, performing arts, local artisans, and street food vendors serving traditional Indonesian cuisine. With an afternoon of prize-draws, games and giveaways, all visitors will also be in with a chance of winning a luxurious holiday to Bali and Labuan Bajo!

Indonesian Workshop: Discover Batik: Monday 7th November
Time: 10am – 1pm

Address: Indonesian Embassy, 30 Great Peter Street, London SW1P 2BU
Learn about the intricate, Indonesian craft of batik which involves wax-resistant cloth dyeing to create beautiful motifs. Guests will learn about the process through professional, traditional Indonesian batik artists, see the fabric come alive during a fashion show, and will even get the chance to try their hand at the craft, taking home their very own batik art. The event will be washed down with a speciality Indonesian coffee tasting.

Indonesian Night: Tuesday 8th November
Time: 7pm – 9pm

Address: Central Hall Westminster, Storey’s Gate, London SW1H 9NH
Experience traditional Indonesian arts and culture with an evening of live performances. Talented native musicians and dancers will take to the stage to give guests a flavour of authentic Indonesian culture. Delicious Indonesian canapes and drinks will also be served.

All events are free to attend. To find out more and register for a ticket, visit ei.indonesianembassy.org.uk.
