KOKUM Teams Up with Renowned Chef Avinash Shashidhara for a One Night Only Supper Club

This February, KOKUM will welcome acclaimed Chef Avinash Shashidhara for a one night only supper club celebrating modern Indian cooking. Taking place on Thursday 26th February at 7PM, the event will see Chef Avi team up with KOKUM’s own Chef Sanjay Gour to create an exclusive feasting menu.
Drawing on their shared passion for produce-led cooking, the chefs will showcase a menu inspired by their own culinary experience and Indian heritage from Mumbai and Bangalore. With dishes designed to be shared, the supper club offers diners a unique opportunity to explore lesser-known regional flavours of India.
On arrival, guests will be greeted with a flavour packed Mango Vodka Cocktail, created in partnership with Desi Daru vodka, which celebrates the shared heritage of India. Made with Alphonso Mango vodka, renowned for its rich, fruity flavour and natural sweetness, the cocktail brings a vibrant start to an evening of bold flavours.
The Indian feast then begins with shared starters including Chakli, a classic savoury Indian snack, followed by a generous selection of sharing starters including Coorg Pork, a bold pork curry from the Kodova region flavoured with black pepper, curry leaves, and vinegar.
Main courses continue sharing style, featuring a South Indian meatball curry with lamb and fragrant spices. alongside Malvani Crab Curry with sides of flaky bread, seasonal greens, and garlic rice, before finishing on a sweet note with Hot Jalebi and Milk Ice Cream.
Chef Avi brings over 15 years of experience from some of the UK’s most respected kitchens. Raised in Bangalore, he developed a strong understanding of seasonal, ingredient-led cooking before working at The Park Hotel, Claude Bosi’s two Michelin-starred Hibiscus, and spending over a decade at London’s iconic River Café. He later launched Pahli Hill Bandra Bhai and gained national recognition as a finalist on BBC’s Great British Menu, as well as appearing on BBC Saturday Kitchen.
Chef Sanjay Gour, Co-Founder of KOKUM, grew up in Mumbai before moving to London, where he worked in Michelin-starred restaurants including Murano by Angela Hartnett where he played a key role in Murano’s opening, and Gymkhana where he was Head Chef. In 2017, he opened the much-loved Dastaan, followed by Black Salt Sheen in 2021, and most recently KOKUM in East Dulwich.
The supper club offers an intimate, one night only celebration of creativity and collaboration. The supper club will be priced at £65 per person and are available to book now.
