NEW LINMERE DEVELOPMENT SHORTLISTED IN NATIONAL AWARDS

Barratt Homes at Linmere, part of the wider mixed-use Linmere consortium scheme in Houghton Regis, has been shortlisted in the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards 2021. The development has been recognised in the ‘Best Off Plan Development’ category and is one of six national projects to be selected. The new homes have been shortlisted by an expert panel of judges, and Barratt North Thames is calling for local support to vote for the development.

The award aims to recognise a development that has not yet been built/completed but offers great potential to first time buyers. Barratt Homes at Linmere was judged based on its design, affordability, and how well it caters to those planning to take their first steps onto the housing ladder.

Karly Williams, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt North Thames comments: “Barratt Homes at Linmere is an exciting new development that not only delivers a wide variety of homes, but will create a whole range of community facilities from schools to retail units. Since launching off plan in November 2020, we have seen high levels of reservations from first time buyers who are keen to invest in the wider lifestyle that Linmere will offer once complete.”

Barratt Homes at Linmere will initially deliver 307 new one to four-bedroom homes, forming part of the wider Linmere scheme which will see 5,150 new homes delivered alongside an extensive range of community facilities, including retail units, schools and green open spaces. The majority of new homes through Barratt are eligible under the new Help to Buy scheme, meaning first time buyers can get onto the property ladder with a low five per cent deposit.

Karly adds: “We have supported buyers throughout their off-plan purchase, investing in technology such as street VR’s touring the Barratt development and open spaces of Linmere Park, alongside virtual tours of individual house types. Through these virtual tours, buyers can truly get a feel for room layouts and sizes and be confident in their purchase. We are so pleased to have been recognised and shortlisted in this year’s First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards.”

The final decision on who wins the award will be made by readers of First Time Buyer Magazine, who can vote on their favourite project in each category until the deadline of Friday 6th August at midnight. The winners will be announced at a gala luncheon in September.
